controlled or in control

in this current world of technology, are we in controlled of the machines/robots or will we be easily manipulate by them since we are so much relying on them.
after watching die hard 4.0, i realized we are so much dependent on these machines, hackers can easily control our life by removing these cellphones, computers, laptops, mp3 players, fridges, air-cons, ovens, lifts, traffic lights, cars.. and so many other things etc etc... daily necessities, public transports, work, life are so dependent on them. they are like gong tao on us.
machineries are removing the humanity from us.
soon matrix might just occur on us.
